Hi there everyone,
Due to new covid-related restrictions we won’t be able to host our December Celtic Ball at Ohio Wesleyan on the 18th after all. We’re very sorry to have to change things up on you!  

The Ball will now be held at: 

The Makoy Center (Hilliard, OH) on December 16th, 2021
Please note that this is on a Thursday instead of a Saturday.

Registration will still come out at the beginning of, and be open for, the month of November.

As far as our May 21st Ball, it is still possible that we will use Ohio Wesleyan University, but we will just have to wait and see how things go. We will send out information and announcements about that dance as we can!

Hello everyone! 
Can you believe the ball is finally almost here? We can’t! We are so excited and hope you are too!

Just a few last minute notes:

– At this point I have all the confirmation numbers sent out. If you are registered, but have yet to receive your confirmation number, please reach out to me ASAP.

– Please make sure you have or know your confirmation number when you arrive at the ball in the evening.

– Please review our dress code and social graces which are on the registration form.

– Please pray that everyone has safe travels and a safe and enjoyable day dancing!

– Also, be on the lookout for an announcement coming soon about dates for our Christmas and Spring Balls!

Hello everyone! 

Just a quick reminder that early registration closes on Monday, June 7th, 2021!

After that, the cost will go up to $45 and registration will close firmly on Monday, June 21st.

There is still plenty of space so go ahead and register. No need to check first if there’s still room at this point. We’ll send out another email when space is getting tight.
Because we still have space, we’ve decided to open this ball to 13-year-olds as well!

Greetings to all from Josiah and Elaina Moore!

We’d like to take a minute to introduce ourselves and announce that a Summer Celtic Ball is happening on July, 17th!

You should have received an email from Rebekah explaining the transition taking place within the Celtic Ball team. We are incredibly honored and excited to continue on with the event that Rebekah has made so memorable for so many! Her heart for the Lord and others is truly inspiring and we will do our best to continue in her spirit. 

Many of you will already know us, as I (Josiah) and my brother Joel have been teaching and calling the dances at the ball for years now with Rebekah. We’re thrilled to now be taking on the event in its entirety and hopefully helping it to grow and continue for many years to come. 

The Celtic Ball is very special to us! We both started attending when we were fourteen years old and actually got to know each other at this event and in our homeschool group. Elaina jokes that one of the reasons she agreed to go out with me was because she thought I was so good at waltzing! Now, about fourteen years later, we’ve attended more Celtic Balls than we can remember and still love every new one!

Eventually there will be a new website but for now, www.ohiocelticball.com is still where to go. There is, however, a new email: [email protected] Please use this for all communications from now on. Elaina will be handling most of the logistics, event planning, and emails.

Without realizing it, calling and hosting dances has become a bit of a side business for us! This year alone I had the privilege of working with some amazing people to put on events that perhaps some of you attended! In the future I’d love to do more of this, and the coming website will encompass more than just our beloved Celtic Ball. The ball will be our main flagship event with potentially many other opportunities. 

We hope to see you this summer and wish you the best!

Hi friends,

Lots of great things are on the horizon for the Celtic Ball  and our homeschool community! Keep a watch for that soon.But first , I want to explain to you a new thing that is happening.

I will be stepping aside as far as organizing the Celtic Ball , and leaving it in the very competent hands of Josiah and Elaina Moore. Many of you know that we have been doing this together, for several years now – as a team, along with Joel and Tori Moore.

I have had such great joy watching our young adults , who I became acquainted with as young participants – stepping into leadership roles. Working together with them I have watched The Celtic Ball continue to become even sweeter – thanks to their enthusiasm, dedication, and high standards. They have brought new ideas and life to it as well. What could be better than that ?

Well, it’s time for them to continue our wonderful traditions, and , just as important – with their vision – to keep it growing even stronger.

There will most likely be changes or updates in the future regarding the website (Ohiocelticball.com) and email( [email protected]), but Josiah and Elaina will keep you posted about that.

It’s been my honor to serve the homeschool community for quite a few years and now it’s time for me to do some other things. ( I do look forward to coming and dancing !)

Many thanks to all of you – who have prayed for, encouraged, and blessed us. I am so thankful that I said yes to organizing it, as it has given me great memories and friends that I will forever cherish.

Hi to all! We want to let you know that we are working towards a ball in late spring or early summer!

We’d like to get your thoughts. Would you please send us a quick email or Facebook message (there are also some Facebook polls out) answering  these three questions?

We would really appreciate it as it helps us to plan moving forward.

• Would you prefer a spring or summer ball?

• Would you be willing to come to our usual size dance of 200+ dancers? If so, are your parents on board with that too? If not, what size event would you be comfortable with?

• Do you have any venues in the central Ohio area that you’d like to suggest for us to consider? (Ohio Wesleyan University is not able to accommodate us, at least for now )

The Celtic Ball Team

A homeschool group from the Powell area is having a Winter Ball at Harvest Hills with the Celtic caller (our own Josiah Moore ) on Sunday, February 21 from 6:30-9:30.  

They have openings for 11 teen boys ages 13-18.

The cost is $15 /person.

Formal on the Farm: A Dinner & Dance for Homeschool Teens

It is with sad hearts that we announce, we will not be hosting the Christmas Celtic Ball at Ohio Wesleyan University  this winter, but we are currently hoping to see you again at the Spring Celtic Ball in 2021.

However, to those who would still like to dance, Josiah Moore would potentially be willing to work with any groups that would like to put on a dance if they can get or have a venue.

We knew there weren’t enough Storm Trooper helmets to make the ball entirely non-infectious, so we had to cancel.

Alright, that isn’t really what happened, but it makes a good story!

The truth is that we just received word from Ohio Wesleyan University that they have cancelled our event for Saturday, March 14th.

We wanted to be sure everyone knew about this as soon as possible, thus this notice.

Cancelling a Celtic Ball is new territory for us, so please be patient as we figure out what happens next as far as rescheduling or refunding etc.
